In Case You Were Wondering

I'm thinking about starting a series of posts by that title. What do you think? You might have to give me some ideas of what you're wondering about. For today, though, I know this pressing question has been on your mind-- How do I like my sandwiches cut?

When Cory and I first got married and started making sandwiches together, he was surprised to find out that I still like my sandwiches cut. He prefers his whole. I, on the other hand, cut every sandwich. The type of sandwich determines how I cut it, though.

In general, if the sandwich has some sort of schmear on it, like pb&j, for example, I cut it diagonally. It is easier to eat without getting it on my face, since the shape is narrower.

If the sandwich has a more solid substance on it, however, such as a tomato sandwich, or a ham and cheese, then it has to be cut down the center. The larger sizes of bread help hold the solid on better.

I know, I know, you're thinking, if it's cut in half, regardless of the shape, the size is the same. The area of a sandwich doesn't change when you cut it. But the shape really does make a difference. I promise.

So there you have it. Now what are you really wondering?

Your sandwich comments make PERFECT sense. And that looks suspiciously like a tomatoe sandwich. :)

I do the same. :) It makes me feel better to eat a cut sandwich! I'm trying to get used to not cutting them though because Aaron doesn't.

I'm wondering... about your daily schedule.

Hey, in my defense, the camera was just sitting on the counter within reach... otherwise I wouldn't have been able to record the momentous event of me spilling the juice. :)

Crazy. I love posts like this because it brings the things we all think about to life. O.K. I love diagonal sandwiches. But my Mom tells a funny story about my brother who went and hid and cried because my grandmother cut his sandwich the wrong way!

Thanks for coming out of the woodwork!! Comments do help us get to know our readers better! Congratulations on baby #3!

If I cut at all it's ALWAYS diagonal.

Oh, I remember well the teacher punching! That sounds like something I would have done too.... on accident. :) And yes, I do remember the Westserman incident.
