So Anna threw out this tag a while back, and I've finally decided to answer it all. Sometimes I like thinking back to the good ol' WJ days, sometimes not so much... but today I'm willing to give it a shot. So here goes!
1. Did you date someone from your school? I dated lots of someones, but the only one I dated steadily was Devin Stone.
2. Did you win anything in Seniors Who's Who? Nope. Lots of band awards and such, but nothing on a school-wide level.
3. What kind of car did you drive? A light blue protege until I wrecked that, then the red eagle summit until I totaled it, then back to the protege, with a new passenger door. Don't worry, those are the only two accidents I've ever had, I'm not totally a crazy driver.
4. It's Friday night...where are you? Pep band games, or a party at someone's house, probably watching a movie or playing games. Perhaps in the band room.
5. Were you a party animal? Umm, I went to a lot of band parties, but they aren't necessarily the "party-animal" type of parties... just a lot of fun.
6. Were you considered a flirt? Yes, I think I probably was. I had lots of fun dating lots of different guys, when I did that.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Oh good heavens, band. Very much band. I was even the drum major, the leader of the band.
8. Were you a nerd? Definitely definitely yes. Like Anna, I took tons of AP and honors classes, did MUN as a sophomore (and a little as a jr.), was in NHS my sr. year, and had at least 3 band classes at all time. But I was the kind of nerd that knew I was a nerd, and was cool with it. :)
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? No, but I did punch a teacher in the gut once, and was told by another teacher that I'd been expelled, and believed them...
10. Can you sing the fight song? There were words to that? No, I could probably play the flute or tenor sax part, though...
11. Who were your favorite teachers? I'm with Anna again on this one. Mr. Tucker was definitely one of the most influential teachers I've ever had--he made me realize my love not only for reading, but for writing as well. I was an english major because of him. I also loved Mrs. Leyva. She taught me a lot about who I was, and also who I would never be.
12. Where did you sit during lunch? Sometimes in the commons at the table, but mostly in the alcove between the band room doors. Yeah, we were cool, and we knew it. :)
13.What was your school's full name? West Jordan High School.
14. School mascot? Jaguar.
15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? Not exactly... the band always had competitions that day, so the only year it was even possible was my sr. year, but we never even made it to the dance. I was supposed to go with Craig Decker, but instead of going to the actual dance, we ate dinner and had a dance of our own in Mike Starr's backyard. It was one of the greatest dates I'd ever been on at that time. Also the date I bungee jumped with. :)
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No. I loved a lot of the things I did, and had a lot of fun, but by the time I finished, I was definitely done. There was too much drama (don't steady date in hs, people!), and too much time spent worrying about things I never want to have to worry about again.
17.What do you remember most about graduation? Just the thought that "why is this such a big deal? I'm nowhere near done with all my schooling!" Oh, and something about all the cords I had around my neck... I was pretty proud of those, despite it all.
18. Where did you go senior skip day? Didn't have one, but I did skip out after an AP test one day and went out to lunch with Sarah Willardson... it was great. Only time I've ever skipped a class.
19. Were you in any clubs? Tri-M, National Honor Society, Model United Nations.
20. Have you gained some weight since then? Yes. Something like 35 lbs., which Cory and I are now trying to lose.
21. Who was your prom date? Which year? Soph. year--James Anderton (awkward, because I didn't know him that well, and he'd asked 2 other girls before me... :), Jr. year-Spencer Jentzsch-- another one of the best dates of my life, except for when Jon spilled sparkling cider on my dress in the limo..., and Sr. year--Devin Stone, which was also a lot of fun, just hanging out with a great group of friends.
22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? If they have one, I'll probably go, assuming we still live around here. There wasn't a five year, though, so I'm not getting my hopes up.
23. Do you still talk to people from school? Yes! I absolutely love facebook and blogging for this reason. I think it's sort of funny, who you end up staying friends with, and who just falls out of your life.
Anyway, this was kind of fun, so I'm opening the tag up to anyone who wants to do it... no matter what high school you went to, or what years you went. My only request is that if you should decide to do the tag, that you leave a comment on my blog so we can all go read it, because I love reading other people's responses to these questions.
