SUPER tired...

Breanne tells me that frequently these days, most often when she doesn't want to do something--either she's "super tired", or "super busy"--she cracks me up. Well, today I sent her to go to the bathroom, she gave me the usual tired excuse, I sent her anyway. I realized a few minutes later that she was being awfully quiet, so I went in to check on her, and this is what I found:

I guess she really was "super tired." So, like any good mom, I covered her up and let her sleep for 2 hours.

On Voting

It makes me happy when my votes make a difference--local politics are so different from national in that way.

http://electionmap.provo.org/

While I'm not entirely certain what to expect from these politicians the next four years, I am excited by the prospect of good change--Provo politics have gotten so messed up. I'm tired of all the drama about renting out basements and duplexes vs. accessory apts. vs. MIL apts. and other zoning issues--it all just makes me want to move away from this city, which otherwise I love. And after all of this drama, which involved almost all the people on my street (but not us, as we didn't have a sign in our yard), I am just ready to be done with all the campaigning (and smear-campaigning). Here's hoping for a great next 4 years, full of good change for all us homeowners.

Messing Up on the 2nd Day

I almost forgot to post--it's seriously just been one of those days. My girls are into ignoring me (if not doing the opposite of what I ask) right now, and I'm just too tired to fight them a lot of the time. So I'm just going to look at this picture, and start again tomorrow. Goodnight, friends.

Halloween Preview and NaBloPoMo

So I need to find our card reader, (which has been MIA since our trip to San Francisco) so I can post our real Halloween pics. In the meantime, these will have to suffice (they're from our ward party on Friday):

I need to find it soon, though, because yes, I am planning on participating in NaBloPoMo. I'm tired of all my slacking off on the blogging front, and hopefully now, with the trips, the Primary Program, and everything else out of the way, I'll have a little more time to blog at night. Or I'll just have to make some time. So wish me luck. :)

Oh, and if you're wondering what I'm doing in that pic, I'm painting someone's face. Don't mock me, I'm just awkward like that. Sheesh.

BedHead

Curly-haired kids get the best bedhead. Seriously.

Breanne's Art

So in preschool, Breanne does at least one painting or drawing a week. She is frequently a little upset when I go to pick her up from school, because she can't figure out what her teachers have done with her picture--which means they've kept it to display for the next week. I, of course, am totally proud of her pictures. I didn't realize she was such a great artist--when I ask her to draw specific things, she usually gets distracted. At her school, though, she does a pretty good job of drawing what she is asked to. Here are two of her latest projects:

Found Photos

So I know I never really did a post from our San Francisco trip, mostly because once we got home, I went straight into the tired and sick part of my pregnancy. I don't plan on posting a whole lot from it now (suffice it to say it was a great trip, mostly, but I never want to live in SF), but I did find this sequence of photos that I thought was hilarious, and decided I should share with you:

Hanging out, watching a movie:

Uhh, Janey:

Don't put your foot on your sister's face. Luckily for you, she's tired:

The thing I love the most about these photos (besides showing Janey's tendency to be the instigator of trouble around here...) is how Janey's face never changes--if you just watch her face, it's like nothing ever happened.

Love these girls.

I'm just sayin'...

This is me 16 weeks ago (I think on the day we found out I was pregnant):

This is the photo I posted at 15 weeks:

This is me today, at 21 weeks, in the same shirt:

I am definitely growing a baby.

And She's On Her Way!

That's right, I said she... She's most definitely a GIRL!!! I never thought I would have three girls... but I'm very, very excited.

Doesn't she look beautiful? We're pretty darn excited to have another girl (though a mite surprised, to be honest... that morning sickness thing totally threw me off), and can't wait to meet her. She seemed very happy during the ultrasound, and was opening her mouth constantly, as if to talk to and smile at us. She also managed to do a 180 while we were looking at her--when we first started looking at her, she was breech, and then towards the end, the technician mentioned that she needed her to move so she could get a better view of her heart (I LOVE looking at their hearts and brains--so cool!), and the baby obediently flipped to head down, giving her a better look. Hopefully she'll be that obedient when she comes out. :)

Another 17+ weeks, and she'll be good to get here. And it will be great, I'm sure!

In case you're wondering, yes, she does look just like her sisters--here are their profiles:

Breanne:

Janey (a little harder to see, she was a squirmy one!):

And no, not all babies look like mine in profile, in case you were wondering. These babies are definitely Kilger babies.

20 Weeks and a Poll

Halfway there... with an ultrasound on Friday, hooray! Feel free to participate in my first ever poll, on my sidebar. You can vote on what gender you think the baby is until 9:30 on Friday, the day and time of my ultrasound.

The facts about this pregnancy thus far: I haven't had nearly as much morning sickness, but I haven't been taking a regular prenatal vitamin, either. With both of my girls, I was very diligent about taking my vitamins (and was extremely sick), but with this pregnancy, when I started taking them (at about 5 weeks) and I started getting really, really sick, I stopped, and the sickness mostly went away (I was still sick in the evenings, but as long as I took my unisom and B6, and went to bed before 11:00, I was ok). So take that for what it's worth. Also, I have craved red meat, but had an aversion to chicken (thankfully that seems to have stopped with the nausea a few weeks ago). And fruit, for the first trimester, I ate an apple almost every day.

I have the usual aches and pains starting up already, but nothing I can't handle yet. I also started feeling the baby move a couple weeks ago, and Cory has been able to feel the baby move a few times over the last 2 weeks, too. I love that part.

So... so far so good. I'm excited to finally see this baby on Friday, and to see what you all think it'll be.

Oh, and don't worry, I've still been taking a folic acid supplement to make up for the missed prenatal vitamin--that is the most important part (especially since my iron levels are always somewhat freakishly high).
